Afternoon Tea at the Wolseley

Wanderlust Wednesday. Isn’t that the case everyday? I’m having blast reliving my travels to New York, London and Paris last year by reading through my travel journal and sharing with you. I am loving reading through what I did each day and how I liked the various activities and cities. It’s giving me a serious case of nostalgic wanderlust. Can I go back, like, now!? I’m also really proud of myself for being so consistent and thorough in my journaling so I can remember the details from over a year ago.

So, before I share my other favorite afternoon tea adventure with you, I need to preface the photos included with this:

Please, please excuse the horrid lighting in the included photos. It was really, really dark at 4 pm when we went to tea in December and my (now obsolete) iPhone and my point and shoot camera could not handle it. Poorly lit photos are both something I disdain and, oddly, my M.O. I’m sorry. Can we still be friends?

The Orangery, a Proper Afternoon Tea in London

Wow, this year has flown by. Christmas is over and New Year’s is just a few couple of days away. As you may remember, Chef and I spent Christmas in Charlottesville last week and our time couldn’t have been any better. Okay, mayyybe if we’d had Mr. Leon with us, we’d have had a slightly better time. Over the roughly 4 full days we were in Virginia, we managed to binge eat everything in sight and drink copious amounts of wine and cocktails. So now, as many other good-time-having Americans are, I’m looking for good running shoes, a quality activity tracker (Fitbit? Jawbone?), and a new insulated mug to drink all of the tea I can get my hands on. Side note: My favorite teas are mint or Stash’s Lemon Ginger. From now on, I will be drinking approximately 48 ounces of tea at work to stay hydrated and start flushing out all of the toxins I’ve consumed.

But that’s not exactly why we’re here, is it?

My absolute favorite picture.

My absolute favorite picture.

No, we’re here to discuss the absolutely amazing time I had in London last year while also drinking copious amounts of tea. Read the rest of this entry

Revisiting Trafalgar Square

Guys, I’m feeling lazy on this Travel Tuesday eve. It seems a lot like a stay-in-pjs-all-day Saturday. Except for the whole being a grownup with a job thing. But I have something that’s long overdue to share with you. Well, a lot of things, but we’ll start with this one.

I’ve been putting off this post about my time in London’s Trafalgar Square, because I’ve been desperately searching for a photo that is over 20 years old and is an integral part of why I returned to Trafalgar Square! + a million other reasons + tasty recipes and adventures I’d wanted to share! The history goes a little something like this..  Read the rest of this entry

2013 Highlights

First of all, HAPPY (late) NEW YEAR! So, on New Year’s Eve 2012, I posted a bunch of highlights from the year. I was so prepared. And for NYE 2013, I was in Paris and well on my way to a cheese and Champagne-induced coma. Sooo.. I wasn’t prepared. But, better late than never, right?

Let’s take a gander at all the delightful things 2013  threw my way!
