Friday Five

I’m still not ready to be back to reality. My Caribbean trip was simply too amazing! And with views like this, who would want to go back to being a responsible adult with a schedule? Not me, that’s for sure.

Okay. Deep breaths. Let’s cope with real life by distracting ourselves. A brand new Friday Five is here!

1.I am beyond excited for this new Girl Scout Cookie flavor! Seriously, when can I get my hands on a box?

2. Loving this write up in the LA Times on my alma mater. “Party school” definitely not apply anymore.

3. A healthier version of Mongolian Chicken? Yes please!

4. While I haven’t been to this Caribbean Island, I can attest that it doesn’t take long to feel like a local in the Caribbean.

5. I am so excited for this pie recipe from Recipe Girl! Loved it as a kid and can’t wait to make it myself.

Happy Tuesday! I’m still adjusting to the time change. It is so hard to justify getting out of bed at 6:45 am when I know in my head that on Saturday it would have been 5:45 am. I digress.

Last week, I posted about my fabulous weekend in Chico, CA and mentioned my favorite hangover cure, Hula’s. My very first time at Hula’s, I had absolutely no idea what to do. Now, young grasshoppa’, I pass this valuable knowledge along to you for whenever you travel to Chico. Read the rest of this entry

Chico Weekend Recap

This past weekend, I headed up north to my old stomping grounds. And yes, a twenty-something can have old stomping grounds. Truth be told, I missed Chico quite a bit. I missed my favorite happy hour restaurant. I missed delicious beer for ridiculously cheap. I missed my college friends. I missed being in the gorgeousness that is Bidwell Park.

So, I was beyond thrilled when I was able to incorporate all I missed into one completely satisfying, totally sleep-deprived weekend. Lucky for you, I took pictures throughout some of my favorite parts. Read the rest of this entry

Chico Eats: Hula’s Chinese B-B-Q

Chances are that if I were to ask you what comes to mind when I mention Chico, CA, you’d probably give a laugh and mention something about its party school reputation, if you’d heard of it at all. While I hate to break it to you that it was only voted the number one party school once (in 1987) by Playboy Magazine, there’s something even more fantastic in Chico than what constitutes the party school atmosphere. It isn’t the lovely tree-lined streets, nor abundance of parks. It has nothing to do with the multitude of friendly faces greeting you at every turn. It’s a Mongolian barbecue restaurant, and its name is Hula’s.
