Super Easy Oven Roasted Chicken

It’s been a busy few weeks! My trip to Asheville was a huge success in terms of great food, fun family, loads of exploration. Then, all sorts of birthday week month events were happening and were simply delightful. And then, my cousin’s 30th birthday festivities which took over the Napa Valley. But, amid all of these shenanigans, I’ve been meaning to share something extra tasty with you.

Another Year, Another Birthday

Yes, I am now year older, but I’d like to think I’m a tad bit wiser. I’m still pretty thrilled to be considered a 20-something, but close enough to 30 to begin preparing for that big day by drinking copious amounts of wine.

Birthday Month, as I like to celebrate, has been splendid so far! My lovely mother made me Great-Grandma Emogene’s Coconut Cake (my fave) for my family celebration. Darling friends and family have treated me to cocktails and dinners and I have a few more scheduled. Free booze and food alongside great company? Birthday Month is the best, guys.

Pinky promise that I didn’t turn 10 this year..

So thank you for all of the birthday wishes, you all have made me feel special! I have tons in store for posting in the upcoming weeks– wine tastings, tasty recipes and a few of my favorite restaurants. Looking forward to sharing it all with you! xx Natalie

Getting Ready for Asheville

Summer travel adventures are coming in hot! Since Chef’s dad and I both have birthdays next week, Chef and I are catching a red-eye to Charlotte, picking up a rental car and driving to Asheville for a long weekend of celebrating, exploring, eating, and drinking. I’ve never been to North Carolina, but I’ve heard lovely things about Asheville. And honestly, I can’t get that Petey Pablo song Raise Up out of my head when I say North Carolina. Craft beer, great food, music.. It sounds a lot like Portland to me! And we all know how much I adore Portland.

So that being said, I’ve been scrounging up ideas for what to bring with me on my trip. Casual but fun, light with lots of layers. And stripes. Lots of stripes.

Pretty cute, right? Head on over to my Polyvore page to check out all the items in the photo above.

I’m definitely excited about our cross-country adventure. Have you been to Asheville? Do you have any recommendations for places to go, bars to drink at or restos to eat at? Please send them my way!
