HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Later this evening, I will be dressed up in either a flapper costume and consuming tasty cocktails or in pjs and sleeping– I haven’t quite decided yet. One thing is certain though, Johanna sent me an absolutely fabulous Foodie Pen Pals box earlier this month!

The weather in Napa Valley has been straight trippin’ lately. Chilly mornings with dense fog warnings followed by mid-70s in the afternoon? I mean, I know it’s autumn (yay!) but it would be great if the weather could start acting like it. It’s also been quite crisp and chilly in the evenings, which obviously makes me want comfort food. So I’ve been making some. And let me just say that, omg guys, this veggie-filled meatloaf is out of control.
Last weekend, I went up to Chico to help my lovely friend Charise get ready for her housewarming party. She and her husband had just purchased their home about a month before, and she was requested backup for preparing for the event (read: shopping at Costco). After our journey to Costco and the resulting wine-o’clock recovery, we started prepping some of the food for the next day’s party. Because I’m unconditionally and irrevocably in love with cheese, I was thrilled when I saw a huge bag of mozzarella cheese packs in the fridge. Charise was making caprese salad skewers and I was so excited!
Ay ay ay!
It’s Monday was Foodie Pen Pals reveal day, and it’s been so long since I’ve participated in Foodie Pen Pals! This month, Ms. Lindsay changed things up a bit– she had us exchange in pairs! So while I was collecting foodie items to mail to Meghan, Meghan was gathering items to mail to me.
Before we delve into what’s inside the box pictured below, I’ll acknowledge the fact that I’ve been terrible about updating this thing. I’ve been busy with work and personal tasks, planning my European adventure (which now includes Brussels!!!), and whatnot. I’ve been itching to get back to baking, trying new recipes, and sharing my upcoming travel plans. So to those of you who use this blog to keep tabs on me (*ahem* Auntie Donna..), fear not! I’m back.
