Unhealthy Chocolate Chip Coconut Banana Bread

I am so not a fan of these weeks just flying by. Who do they think they are? Don’t they know I have a lot of stuff to get done before the weekend starts? Ugh, rude.

Anyway. Last week, I felt the need to increase my time spent baking. Because I was never baking. So, I made this delightful little breakfast treat. Only I feel kinda bad for this recipe. The banana bread started out healthy. Something like 115 calories per slice. And then I added chocolate chips. Whoops. It’s probably because I was making it at the same time I was making the most amazing strawberry cake known to man. Actually, I blame my roommate, Shaylyn. She was the one with the brilliant idea to add chocolate chips.

I love these somecards mugs. Thanks to my biffel Alice for getting these for the house.

She’s a genius.

Strawberry Cakes Forever

While perusing through the photos for this post, Strawberry Fields Forever kept running through my head. And no, not the whole song. Just that cheesy part that’s all drawn out, “strawberry fields foreeeverrr”. Thanks John Lennon.

Anyway, I don’t want strawberry fields forever– I want strawberry cakes forever. With a cup of coffee or a mimosa. Preferably in some quaint little cafe in Paris or fabulous coffee shop in New York, now that I’ve booked the first flight of my winter travel adventure (So. Much. Excitement. NYC here I come!) Onward to the most delicious and fairly easy recipe by the lovely Sommer Collier of A Spicy Perspective.

Oui oui, more cake, merci!

Camping at Samuel P. Taylor

TGIF! A small part of me wishes I had girlfriends coming over for a sleep over in my living room, gossip sesh (boys, boys, boys!), and to eat popcorn while watching honest-to-goodness TGIF shows all night. I miss being 10. At least now wine is involved in my gossip sessions get togethers. One of my favorite things from my younger years is making a comeback as of late: camping! And yes, lots of wine was involved.

June Foodie Pen Pals

June was such a lovely–albeit crazy– month! I celebrated my birthday week, booked airfare for two trips to one of my favorite cities (Portland!) and lodging for one loonnng trip to a *soon to be* favorite city (Paris!). Over the weekend, my roommate and I hosted a housewarming party (pics and a menu coming sooooon!), which has taken up all of my spare time, resulting in a very tardy to the party Foodie Pen Pals post! Yes, I went there. So, without further ado, let’s take a gander at what the lovely (but sadly, blog- and Twitter-less) Denise of the Philadelphia area sent me in this month’s edition of Foodie Pen Pals!
