November Foodie Pen Pals

I cannot believe that Thanksgiving has already passed. Guys, this means we’re officially into the countdown for Christmas. Yikes! I shouldn’t be too worried, I have three Secret Santa parties to attend– so much easier to buy for one person than figuring out a gift for everyone at each of the parties!– and only buy presents for my family and a handful of individual friends. But I really do like to bake a lot, in lieu of providing gifts for family functions, co-workers, etc. I suppose the anxiety comes from the fact that there will be a lot of baking involved, and my kitchen isn’t incredibly large.

Rather than focusing on what is eating away at my brain, let’s focus on something fun! exciting! and delicious! Let’s focus on: November Foodie Pen Pals reveal day!

I’m Thankful For…

Happy Thanksgiving! I doubt you have trouble believing that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Food, family, wine, and food.. what more could a girl ask for? Here are a few things I’m giving thanks for on this lovely day:

  • My adorable kitties, Betsey and Marvin (For those of you who do not know, I’m a crazy cat lady.)
  • My wonderful friends and family who support me, have fun with me, and help to keep me sane
  • My amazing job and coworkers
  • Chocolate, wine, broccoli, zucchini, and food in general
  • How much I’ve been able to travel in my twenty-something years
  • My 2012 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants for making Torture a little more bearable this year (Yes, Torture with a capital ‘T’.)
  • Jim Harbaugh and my San Francisco 49ers for bringing in a new era of respectable, watchable football from San Francisco
  • All of my awesome followers and readers, along with the cool blogs I follow! You guys get me excited to write new posts and read yours!

Obviously this list doesn’t include every single thing I’m thankful for (Hi, being alive, having a roof over my head, etc.), but it highlights some truly important things that I’m extremely grateful for. I hope all of you American followers enjoy gorging yourselves like I am, and for anyone outside of the geographical boundaries of the US, I hope you have a lovely day carrying on. Either way, take a moment to think about who and what you’re grateful for, and be sure to let the people on that list know it! Cheers!

Let Me Upgrade You: Ramen Noodles

Ay, ay ay! I forgot to post last week. Silly girl, I know. Well, I hope to make it up to you all by posting twice this week!

For those of you who follow me on twitter, remember how I posted about that Martha Stewart Ramen Noodle Upgrade? Well, I had already started thinking about way to make it more meal-like than the original dish. You know, make enough to serve more than just me. Sometimes I try to not be anti-social. Thoughts of tofu, veggies, and sesame oil crossed my mind. I finally put my thought into action and created this yummy, filling version which makes enough for 3-4. Per usual, Martha knows best– I just made some improvements on what “best” could be.

Memories of Prague: Favorite Restaurants

One of you lovely little followers, Bryonie Carolan from Those London Students, commented on one of my posts a while back. This particular post happened to be about my being nostalgic about studying abroad in Prague, and as it turns out, Ms. Bryonie is currently studying abroad in Prague! To pass along my four months worth of extensive knowledge about living in Prague and also to relive my time there, I decided to come up with a couple of lists of my favorite things/places in Prague. Food. Trips. Bars. Vistas. Ya dig? Today, we begin with my obvious favorite of all favorite things: food! Read the rest of this entry
