On February 18th, one of my nearest and dearest friends, Alice, gave birth to her adorable baby girl (a month early!!). Even before we knew Miss Payton would be joining us so early, we had been planning on having a shower after the baby was born– it worked out perfectly. Alice had a list of about 45 people she’d wanted to invite. So, some of Payton’s fellow “aunties” and I divided up various duties to ensure Payton and Alice had a lovely day with nothing to worry about (and so that no one person was burdened with supplying everything for 45 people!). I’d decided to bring wine and at the last minute decided to bring two appetizers for everyone to nosh on. This post is dedicated to one of the fabulous snacks I’d made: Turkey Spinach Roll Ups.

Mmm.. Oreos. I personally prefer the chocolate cookie part over the cream filling; but I will gladly devour the entire little sandwich cookie
in one bite. I especially love the fudge covered Oreos, but that’s for another time. March 6th was the 100th birthday of the fabulous little cookie. I found a delicious-sounding recipe which uses Oreos as a main ingredient, in honor of that special birthday.
While walking through Target today, I noticed a display for the day when even the non-Irish
try to drink like they are Irish, St. Patrick’s Day. Shelved between the quirky green hats and green polka-dotted napkins were Hershey’s Creme de Menthe Dark Chocolate Kisses. I passed by the display, contemplating what I could make with the delicious sounding treats. I was reminded of the Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies I’ve become slightly famous for in my circle of friends. They’re amazingly decadent and taste like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I stopped drooling over the idea of the Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies when it hit me- I could do something similar and make them taste like Andie’s mints!
